RVing Texas

RVing Texas will give you an opportunity to see some pretty neat things of nature and man. We are only going to talk about three different areas to visit, but they sure offer some pretty neat things!

Austin

Austin Texas is not only the State Capitol, but the home to over a million bats. The Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin has become world famous for all the bats that live under it's structure during the day, while dazzling its human visitors every dusk, when they come out in search of their dinner - flying insects!!

Here's just one of many videos showing them coming out at dusk. If you ever have a chance to see this in person, it will be well worth the trip!

Pretty cool, huh?!?

San Antonio

Rving Texas must include the San Antonio River Walk! Imagine the foresight years ago to not only keep the river in downtown San Antonio, but to improve the structures around it to provide a beautiful promenade of restaurants, stores, concerts and water rides - all open to the air - but one level below the streets!

OK, just where do you park an RV in downtown San Antonio? You don't - too expensive!

However, if you really want to enjoy all the San Antonio offers, go to the Travelers World RV Resort They are directly south of San Antonio - between I-10 and I-410 What really matters is they are across the street from a city bus stop that takes you right to the River Walk area in about 10 minutes. Even better - it is/was less than $2 a piece!!

Travelers World is a great clean, RV friendly place to stay while enjoying the incredible River Walk.

River Walk San Antonio

Cell phone picture - but you get the idea! River Walk is really beautiful!

Kerrville

Sashimi from the China Town Chinese Restaurant in Kerrville, TX

OK, where did that come in!?! Just so happens, we LOVE Sushi and Sashimi. That "neighbor" depicted in our RV Boondocking sunset picture has a very dear friend that runs the Sushi Bar in a local Restaurant there.

Well, we had to stop, of course! It's called "China Town Chinese Restaurant", 735 Hill Country Rd. in Kerrville. "Tony" the Sushi Chef is just incredible with his presentations and quality of Sushi.

Suggest going for dinner only - parking is very limited in the strip shopping center, it's located in. However, just past it, around the bend, is a huge office parking lot that empties out at 5 pm!
