Winnebago’s Accessibility-Enhanced (AE) line, includes the Intent 30R AE, Adventurer 30T AE, and Forza 34T AE.

The freedom to roam with your home is something most RVers take for granted – except for those people who rely on a mobility device to get around in the world. The 15 million people in the U.S. who need a wheelchair, walker or cane usually have few options for RV travel. Starting in 2019, the innovative RV designers at Winnebago Industries changed all that. The company’s specialty RV division just launched three new RVs made exclusively for mobility-challenged campers. Each rig can be ordered from RV dealers around the country.

“Before our accessibility-enhanced Winnebago, the thought of going on vacation was more stressful than just staying at home,” said Mike Freeman, Winnebago Forza 34T owner. In a Winnebago press release, Freeman explained the travel challenges other travelers don’t experience.

“Most people take for granted the ability to hop in a car, plane, train at will to take a vacation, visit friends and family, or explore a new destination. Our accessibility-enhanced RV has opened up a wider and richer world for our whole family and even makes day trips easier. We can leave the house with confidence, and excitement, rather than anxiety and stress. I hope more people like us will discover their freedom and adventure with Winnebago’s new offerings.”

  1. I am so glad that someone has stepped up to the plate (no puns!). People with mobility issues are still full of life!! They love to go and see sights and venture as much as they can, and Winnebago has made that evan more possible!!! Thank you so much!! I have had MS almost 21 years now, but am still mobile at this time and my husband has had 4 spinal surgeries and 1 shoulder replaced. He can hardly walk, and it was our dream to travel around the USA and see our great historic sites before one of us is bedridden. We might be able to do this if we can afford the Class A, we current have a 32′ class c. Anyway, this is exciting news for disabled people!! 🙂

  2. I’m interested in purchasing a wheelchair accessible motor home. I’m single and travel a lot. I grew up going camping & miss the outdoor experience but can’t afford the large extravagant models. I’d settle for something not so big and gently used. Thank you!

    1. Do they allow enough aisle space to get around inside the house portion, though?

And what about an adapted bathroom, if needed?

      Bed height?

Lower height appliances, electric outlets, switches to control lighting and the rig’s systems? Etc.?

These things are essential for people who use wheelchairs full time. It’s not just about storage space for a chair.
